bean bag sunday page logoWe have a NEW ministry project: Bean Bag Sunday! On the first Sunday of each month, please bring a bag (or more!) of dried beans to church. These beans will be donated to Greensboro Urban Ministry, in support of those who are less fortunate. You can place your beans in the designated boxes you'll find in four locations: in the narthex; in the Kincaid Building, on the table outside the Prayer Chapel; at the opposite end of that same hall in the Kincaid Building; and outside the gym, in the KCC.

As well as dried beans, any non-perishable food item is welcomed. For more information on Bean Bag Sunday and other G.U.M. projects, you can contact Marie Slaughter. Marie will be more than happy to assist you in finding your G.U.M. volunteer niche. It might be working at the Cardinal Crossing Food Drives, or helping with collection on Bean Bag Sunday! Whatever the case, your time and efforts are greatly appreciated – not just by our congregation, but by the many people you're helping through Greensboro Urban Ministries.

About Greensboro Urban Ministries (from their Web site):
Founded in 1967, Greensboro Urban Ministry is an ecumenical outreach agency supported by more than 200 congregations representing Protestant, Catholic, and Jewish faith traditions.

Not only does Urban Ministry provide crisis intervention and emergency services through the basics of food, shelter, and clothing, but they also help many individuals and families break the cycles of poverty, hunger, addiction, and homelessness.
